Model assessment:
The evaluation model of the UOC is not global for all subjects but each one is tailored to what is best within the parameters established. It is based largely on continuous assessment tests, called PEC, and practices that consist of work to be done by the students and to be delivered within time set margins. This allows you to track student work and ensure that students are absorbing the material properly. Throughout the semester there are usually 3 to 6 PECs per subject.
There are subjects that can only be approved by the PEC and Practice, although most offer the possibility of end-to-face examination for students unable or unwilling to carry out continuous assessment, which takes place simultaneously in several cities Spain.
One of the peculiarities of this university is that, except for the final grade for the course, you use the English notation A, B, C +, C-and D to describe the evidence.
UNESCO Chair in e-Learning:
The UNESCO Chair in e-Learning of the UOC is the result of a cooperation agreement between UNESCO and the Open University of Catalonia signed in Paris on November 4, 2002. This chair is part of the UNITWIN and was the first established by UNESCO to study the application of ICT in distance education.
The purpose of the chair is to promote collaboration between agencies and international researchers with the aim of promoting equal opportunities in the knowledge society through the use of ICT.
