The Archdeacon's notable for the large concentration of theaters he has, but today, after the close of "The Mill" and other venues, his appeal is less than a couple of decades. The most prestigious theaters in the city are now the Great Theatre Liceo, specializing in opera, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, with three rooms in which represents the great classics, and the Teatre Lliure, with cutting-edge proposals. In the districts of Ciutat Vella Eixample and there are a lot of areas, such as the Teatro Condal, Poliorama Teatro, Teatro Romea, the Victoria Theatre or The Mercat de les Flors offering musicals, comedies and more experimental.
The city also offers various rooms and cinema multiplexes offering projections of different styles: business, movies in original version, auteur cinema, European cinema ... In this regard include the Film Archive of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and cinemas as Verdi Gracia.
