Visit (1051 times)

Barcelona Football Club Museum is the museum located in the Camp Nou in Barcelona, and displaying all the trophies won by all sections of the Catalan club sports throughout history, and all kinds of objects related to their teams , mass and social players. It is the most visited museum in Catalonia (Spain). Renamed "President Núñez Museum" in 2000, under President Joan Gaspart, in honor of former president Josep Lluis Nunez, founder of the museum.

History:

The Museum of Catalan club was inaugurated on September 24, 1984, representing an investment of close to 70 million pesetas and initially occupied a space of 950 square meters on two floors. In 1987 suffered its first makeover with the expansion of the background art but it was in 1994 when it rose more substantially, by doubling its former area and include new features such as, among others, the Centre de Documentation Barcelonista.
There was a third remodeling throughout the 1997-98 season, which expanded to 3,550 square meters of the increasingly ambitious work and which rose a ramp that connected the Museum with Botiga. The museum has on permanent display Futbolart Collection, owned by Paul Ornaque, and considered one of the best private collections in the world of soccer, with objects of all kinds, some of incalculable value. Currently the Museum is divided into four areas: historical museum, the art collection, the collection and temporary exhibitions Futbolart.
Jaume Ramón (1984-1990), Roser Cabero (1990), Albert Pujol (1984-2006) and Jordi Penas (from 2006 to present) have been the directors who have held the reins of the institution since its opening.
Has taken such a dimension to the Museum in recent years is the most visited of Catalonia, over the Dali Museum in Figueres and the Museo Picasso de Barcelona. At the state level only exceeded by the Prado Museum in Madrid and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
The Museum offers the possibility of a tour that, in addition to museum admission, can visit places usually restricted to the public. The tour allows access to the presidential box, so that any visitor can enjoy spectacular views of the Nou Camp stadium, sitting in the presidential chair, to the locker room to the newsroom and at the same lawn at Camp Nou.
Besides the objects related to the history of FC Barcelona, the Museum also has an artistic background with sports-themed works of renowned artists: Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Antoni Tapies, Josep María José Segrelles or Subirachs.
On April 7, 2010, work began on the first floor total renovation of the Museum, the historic area, and the adequacy of the Tour itinerary. The works will last until June 13, 2010, date set for opening of new Museum of the XXI century.
